Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. George Will: Massa ‘Weirdness’ Spells Trouble For Dems In November

More troubling, at least for the Dems, is that his hangover effect (and we’re not just talking “tickle fights” here) may be months in the curing. At least that’s what George Will thinks.
