Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

A real green job: dash to the finish continues



(Winston-Salem Journal) - Workers from Sandhill Turf were busy installing the final rolls of turf yesterday at BB&T Ballpark as preparations continue for the Winston-Salem Dash's home-opener on April 13. The job of laying the sod began Monday, with almost 100,000 square feet of grass installed.
