Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Rep. Ryan: CBO score uses double-counting, funds “15,000 IRS agents”

(By Ed Morrissey, Hot Air) - The Right Scoop catches Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) explaining some of the deficiencies of the CBO analysis of the House reconciliation package on Fox & Friends this morning. Not only does the CBO play along with the double-counting of Medicare cuts — which argues that the money will go both to shoring up Medicare while also funding the expansion of Medicaid — it fails to include the “doctor fix” that Democrats plan to pursue after ObamaCare passes:
