The Last Details: Dash considering charging fee of $5 a car to park in lots around downtown stadium

(By Laura Graff, Winston-Salem Journal) - The Winston-Salem Dash may charge $5 a car to park in lots around the new downtown baseball stadium, with proceeds going to nonprofit groups that would supply people to staff the lots, the baseball team's president, Geoff Lassiter, said yesterday.

The parking plan is not final, Lassiter said, but should be finished "any day."

The team's contract with the city of Winston-Salem does not require the city's approval for the plan, said Greg Turner, an assistant city manager who has been working with stadium developers.
