Phoenix Suns GM Compares AZ Law to Nazi Germany
PHOENIX (By Bob McClay/News-Talk 92.3 KTAR) - Arizona U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Hayworth is demanding an apology from the Phoenix Suns.
The Suns came out against S.B. 1070 and will wear their "Los Suns" jerseys Wednesday night against the Spurs.
"For [Suns General Manager] Steve Kerr to make comparisons with this law with Nazi Germany is beyond the pale," he said. "He should apologize, that has no basis in fact."
Hayworth said it appears Kerr has not actually read the bill.
"In the law are these words: Respecting the civil rights of all persons," he said. "Steve's a smart guy, but I bet he hasn't read the bill."
Hayworth added that Suns owner Robert Sarver is a hypocrite because he is expecting the federal government to do something he would not.
