Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Rush Limbaugh's Morning Update: CBO's BS

Rush Limbaugh: Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and scores of other Democrats stood in front of radio microphones, TV cameras, print journalists and bloggers to promise the American people their health care takeover would cost less than $1 trillion to implement. As proof, they cited Congressional Budget Office estimates.

Now, those of us who knew better said so. We said the CBO estimates were based on distorted information that the Democrats gave them; the true cost would be well over $1 trillion. Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and scores of other Democrats stood in front of radio microphones, TV cameras, print journalists and bloggers to tell the American people that we were spreading misinformation.

Well. Now that the takeover is law, the CBO has released fresh numbers, adding $115 billion to the price tag. And, yes: The new estimate for the cost of Obamacare is now... dadelut, dadelut, dadelut! Over $1 trillion, as those of us who knew better predicted. And, I promise, it will go much, much higher. Money we don't have, by the way.

This new CBO score is a response to questions raised by California Republican Congressman Jerry Lewis -- before the vote. The CBO is just now answering them.

Obama, Reid, Pelsoi and scores of other Democrats won't stand in front of radio microphones, TV cameras, print journalists and bloggers to admit to the American people that they sold them a bill of goods based on fraud, lies, and deceit -- that's my job (I happen to do it well). Your job is to vote these corrupt Democrats out of power in November -- I'm going to be with you on that.
