Rush Limbaugh's Morning Update: Liar
Rush Limbaugh: Missouri Democrat Congressman Emanuel Cleaver made a name for himself in the closing hours of the health care debate: he was among the House members who walked through a tea party protest and claimed he was called the "n-word". Fifteen times. His accusation drew massive media coverage. Later, video recordings disproved his charge, but that wasn't covered.
Representative Cleaver recently made another accusation. He claimed the American people have grown skeptical of scientists' global warming claims because they're too stupid to reach informed decisions where science is concerned. His remark came during a hearing of the Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.
Cleaver told the panel of scientists: "Newspapers are supposed to be printed at the sixth-grade level" (so I can read them), and an issue as important as global warming ought to be simplified for the public. If not, Cleaver warned, the public will "bail out -- not because they're not concerned, but because they don't get it."
Referring to the leaked e-mails that proved climate scientists were falsifying the data, Cleaver said: "I think all of the denials and all of the talk of Climategate has had an impact, at least in the United States."
Mr. Cleaver, I'll try this on a sixth-grade level for you. You and the global warming proponents share a common dilemma: You've been exposed as liars. Americans are smart enough to know when they're being lied to. The can see a liar when they see one. They no longer believe anything the liars say because liars lie. You understand that?
