Local BP Stations See Drop in Sales as Consumers Boycott

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (By Brandon Jones, WGHP) - While crews continue the oil spill cleanup in the Gulf, the small businesses that sell BP gasoline are hurting due to boycotts of the oil company.

Family Fare store manager Andrew Colon says his store, which sells BP gas, has seen a decrease in sales caused be people boycotting BP.

"A gentleman bought a bottle of oil, came outside and spilled it all over the parking lot and said 'this is what you all are doing in the Gulf coast.'" Colon said.

Colon says he may have to cut employee raises until sales at his Winston-Salem store return to normal.
