Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

VIDEO: Gorilla Nearly Escapes from North Carolina Zoo

Exhibit closed while workers check for safety

ASHEBORO, N.C. (By Charles Ewing, WGHP) - A gorilla nearly escaped from the North Carolina Zoo on Sunday, using a branch to climb up the glass enclosure and getting high enough to be able to put its hands over the top of the wall.
