Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Howard Dean calls FOX News' Coverage On Sherrod "Racist"; Chris Wallace Strikes Back



HOWARD DEAN: "I don’t think Newt Gingrich is a racist, and I don’t think you’re a racist, but Fox News did something that was absolutely racist. They took a, they had an obligation to find out what was really in the clip. They had been pushing a theme of black racism with this phony Black Panther crap and this business and this Sotomayor and all this other stuff."

"The Republican party has to stop appealing to its racist fringe," Dean added.
