The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Move over, Steven Slater: GOP ad shows Dems sliding off President Obama's Air Force One


Republican ad depicts Dems fleeing Air Force One via chute to get away from Obama.

(By Adam Lisberg, NY Daily News) - Steven Slater is now a national political punch line.

A new Republican spoof video shows congressional Democrats running from President Obama by bailing out of Air Force One - using the emergency slide.

"I'm coming to your hometowns!" a cartoon Obama says, before the bright yellow chute pops open and Democrats start to flee.
