Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Rolling Stone Reporter: Tea Party View ‘Incredibly Stupid’ and ‘Narcissistic’

Seidl, The Blaze) - Appearing on “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell this week, 'Rolling Stone' reporter Matt Taibbi tried to answer the question, “Is the Tea Party racist?“ Instead of a simple ”yes“ or ”no,” Taibbi decided to offer his view on the Tea Party and its outlook on politics. He manages to use “incredibly stupid,“ ”narcissistic,“ ”preposterous fantasy,“ and ”un-American” (referring to those who are not Tea Party members) in his response:
