Forsyth County Sheriff Bill Schatzman: 'I Should Have Told the Officer to Issue Me a Ticket'

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (WGHP) — After not being initially cited for running a red light and causing an accident earlier this week, a Forsyth County Sheriff will receive a moving violation.

Winston-Salem Police Chief Scott Cunningham will issue a ticket to Forsyth County Sheriff Bill Schatzman Friday.

"The issue is I made a mistake and it is plain and simple and there are folks calling into question law enforcement in Winston-Salem, the county, etc.," Schatzman said in a phone interview with FOX8.
