Can The “New Michael Vick” Be Trusted Again?

(By Danny Groner, SportsGrid) - It might be hard to believe, but Michael Vick is a candidate for the NFL’s MVP award this season (“Vick is rocking the league. He is must-see TV,” says The New York Times‘ William C. Rhoden).

Questions arise, however, about whether the “new Michael Vick” deserves the award after the “old Michael Vick” went to jail for running a dog-fighting ring. If his endorsements and jersey sales are any indication, Vick has presumably been forgiven by many people. He may have complicated his road to redemption last week when he revealed that he’d like to get a dog at some point.

Even with the quarterback’s on-the-field success, should the “new Michael Vick” really be trusted again as a dog owner?
