Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Fox News' Juan Williams: Sarah Palin “Can’t Stand On The Intellectual Stage With Obama”

(By Jon Bershad, Mediaite) - Looks like Dana Perino wasn’t the only one to impugn Sarah Palin’s intellect on yesterday’s 'Fox News Sunday'. While the panel was predicting (or failing to predict) the 2012 Republican candidate, Juan Williams pointed out that none of the prospects named so far could compete with Barack Obama charisma-wise except for Sarah Palin then adding, offhand, that she wouldn’t be able to compete with him intellect-wise. Ouch. Someone is totally gonna get chainsaw massacred.
