King City Council Approves Christian Flag Measure
KING, NC (WGHP) — King City Council voted 4-0 Monday night to approve the limited public forum proposal in regards to what flags can fly at the veteran's memorial.
The measure allows anyone to apply for a flag of any type to fly on the now-empty flagpole for one week at a time.
Applications can be submitted starting Tuesday and going through Dec. 20.
A lottery will be conducted Dec. 22 at the American Legion in which the first 52 applications will be drawn and scheduled for the upcoming year.
The first flag chosen in the lottery will fly starting the first week of January.
