The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

White House Bans Reporters From Taking Shirtless Pics Of Obama



(By Verena von Pfetten, Styleite) - In case you haven’t heard, Barack Obama is currently vacationing with his family in Hawaii — a land of turquoise water, white beaches, and the setting for those 2008 photos of a buff and shirtless President that captured the imagination of wonks and everyday civilians alike. This year, the White House is doing everything in its power to prevent another round of Presidential pectoral pics by actively ordering reporters 'not' not to snap any shirtless pics while Obama is snorkeling.
