Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Broken Promise Flashback: Obama Pledges Monthly Meetings with GOP Leadership at 2010 State Of The Union



(Breitbart.tv) - This was President Obama's posturing attempt to act bipartisan and conciliatory at last year's State of the Union address. Of course, just weeks after this the President worked with Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to ram his health care legislation through the house without any contribution from Republicans.

Needless to say, President Obama never scheduled the meetings he made such a big deal about in his address.
