Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Dem Rep Bob Filner On Tucson Tragedy: “Everybody Who Tries To Put It Off On A Deranged Individual I Think Is — That’s A Political Statement In And Of Itself’

(The Blast) - Democratic Rep. Bob Filner appeared on “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell and spoke on the Tucson shooting tragedy. He claimed this is something much larger than just one incident.

Filner said, “This is not an isolated incident. Everybody who tries to put it off on a deranged individual I think is — that’s a political statement in and of itself.”
