The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. MSNBC's Chris Matthews: 'Franklin Delano Roosevelt Bailed Out Capitalism in the 30s'

Yet on Tuesday, moments after calling Congresswoman Michele Bachmann a "balloon head", MSNBC's Chris Matthews actually said FDR "bailed out capitalism in the '30s":
