Surprise! FOX Rejects “Jesus Hates Obama” Super Bowl Ad
(By Dan Fogarty, SportsGrid) - File this one under “Super Bowl ads that were never meant to be greenlit anyway.” A conservative comedy website called JesusHatesObama.com has had their proposed Super Bowl commercial rejected by FOX.
The ad shows two bobbleheads, one of Obama, one of Jesus, standing atop an office cubicle. The Obama bobblehead bobbles away, as the Jesus bobblehead stares at him menacingly. Eventually, the Obama bobblehead falls into a fishtank (I’m assuming via telepathic bobblehead Jesus powers), and bobblehead Jesus is happy.
Like the Ashley Madison ad we posted yesterday, the producers of this commercial probably had a feeling that their proposal would be rejected by FOX (also, does this website look like it can shell out roughly $3 million for a 30-second Super Bowl spot?). But hey: now it gets the tag of “banned Super Bowl ad!” And those usually do okay for themselves.
