Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell Asks Republican Congressman Steve King 'How Do We Know You're Not A Muslim?'

At one point, the "Last Word" host actually asked his guest, "How do we know you are not a Muslim?":
