Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

A ‘Suitably Confrontational’ Bill O’Reilly Discusses His Interview With ‘Thin-Skinned’ President Obama

(By Mark Joyella, Mediaite) - Calling in to talk to Fox News’ Martha MacCallum, Bill O’Reilly took time this morning to talk about his Superbowl Sunday interview with President Obama. Pundits have pored over the interview in an attempt to divine a winner and loser, and O’Reilly’s got his own verdict on the chat: “I got my questions in. I was suitably confrontational in a friendly way.”

O’Reilly said while he “sympathizes” with the president, he also thinks POTUS “still has a thin skin.”
