Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Oklahoma Firefighter Union Uses Oklahoma City Bombing Images in Political Ad



State Sen. David Holt (R-Oklahoma City): "The AFL-CIO and the IAFF should be ashamed of this horrific and tasteless commercial. The victims and heroes of April 19th are not political pawns to be exploited whenever the Legislature seeks to reform a union negotiating process."
