Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Rush Limbaugh Warns GOP Leaders: The Tea Party ‘Made Your Leadership Possible’

(By Matt Schneider, Mediaite) - Rush Limbaugh, on [yesterday's] radio show, was annoyed with Republican leaders in Washington for fearing a government shutdown and for not fighting more aggressively against President Obama on the budget issue. Rush warned Republicans that they should not fear bad media coverage from a shutdown, and instead should fear the Tea Party giving up on the Republican party and forming their own third party.
