The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

CBS reporter Lara Logan breaks her silence about Cairo assault

(New York Post) - War reporter Lara Logan said she thought she would die a "torturous death" during a sexual assault and beating she suffered in Egypt, fearing that she was "in the process of dying" at the hands of the angry mob, she revealed in two interviews made public today.

In her first interview since the Feb. 11 attack in Cairo's Tahrir Square, Logan told CBS's "60 Minutes" as she recalled the harrowing experience.
