Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

ESPN’s Bob Knight Makes Explosive Claims About Kentucky Basketbal

(By Dan Fogarty, SportsGrid) - Nobody ever accused Bobby Knight of biting his tongue.

The legendary former coach and current ESPN analyst made some inflammatory remarks regarding the Kentucky basketball program, and, more specifically, their 2010 Final Four team that had five future NBA first-rounders.

Knight told a group he was speaking to in Wabash, Indiana the following:

“Kentucky, year before last, started five players in the NCAA tournament that had not been to class that semester. That’s that one and none philosophy.”
