Fox News Announces That Glenn Beck ‘To Transition Off Of His Daily Program’

(By Colby Hall, Mediaite) - Well it appears that all of the posturing and rhetoric in the past few weeks regarding the contemptuous relationship between Glenn Beck and Fox News has lead to something after all. In an exclusive to his website TheBlaze.com, Fox News and Mercury Radio Arts (Beck’s production company) have jointly announced that Glenn Beck intends to transition off of his daily program.

While Beck’s ratings have been down from a unsustainable high of last August, he continued to produced outstanding numbers, particularly for the 5PM slot. But conservative thought leaders had become more and more circumspect of Beck’s conspiratorial theories and “end of days” rhetoric, which lead some to theorize that his days at the cable news leader may in fact be numbered.

Two weeks ago, 'Mediaite' broke news that Beck was hiring Fox News SVP Joel Cheatwood to help manage his production company Mercury Radio Arts and develop new content under Beck’s own brand. Many saw this as the next step in the parting of ways between Beck and Fox, which is somewhat confirmed by today’s joint press release.
