Sister, Father of NC State Wolfpack Mascot Poisoned
ELIZABETH CITY, NC (AP) — Four Tamaskan dogs with ties to North Carolina State Wolfpack mascot Tuffy have become seriously ill after eating fish laced with antifreeze that their owner says was placed on his property intentionally.
'The Daily Advance' of Elizabeth City said John Bannow of the Nixonton community saw the dogs acting strangely Sunday and found a large bowl containing fish that later was determined to be laced with antifreeze. The bowl was set in a freshly dug hole and covered in grass.
Tamaskans originated in Finland and are bred to have a wolf-like appearance.
