The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Top Obama Advisor Takes Swipe At Fox News Viewers On 'Fox News Sunday'

(By Matt Schneider, Mediaite) - White House Senior Advisor David Plouffe made the rounds on the Sunday morning talk shows, but the conversation got a little testy in his appearance on 'Fox News Sunday'. When Chris Wallace questioned why Democrats were now fine with some budget cuts that just a few weeks ago they called “draconian,” Plouffe took the opportunity to speak about the Fox News viewers.
