Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Joan Rivers To President Obama: ‘Take Care Of The F**king Country!’

(By Tommy Christopher, Mediaite) - As the news that Osama bin Laden is dead begins to sink in, other, less weighty stories can begin to waft over, or wriggle under, that steel media curtain. The bin Laden story blotted out the usual post-White House Correspondents Dinner fluff, but in its cooling embers, we can now marvel at Joan Rivers‘ prime example of that sweetest of celebrity truffles, the pre-gamin’ red carpet political rant. The veteran comic (and former contestant on Donald Trump’s 'Celebrity Apprentice') had some choice words when asked about President Obama, imploring him to “stop campaigning,” and “Take care of the f**king country!”
