Minn. Legislator: ‘How Many More Gay People Does God Have to Create’ Before We Ask if He ‘Wants Them Around?’

(By Jonathon M. Seidl, The Blaze) - Despite foreign policy and terrorism taking a the front seat in the news cycle, there are other things going on in the country. One of them is the debate in the Minnesota legislature on whether or not to amend the state constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman. According to Lifesitenews.com, the measure has already passed the House and Senate and is now before committees in both chambers.

During one of those committee hearings on Monday, Democratic Rep. Steve Simon posed a simple question that drew applause from observers: “How many more gay people does God have to create before we ask ourselves whether or not God Actually wants them around?”

As Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher explains, the question came after Simon raided the “question of ‘nature vs. nurture,‘ wondering if sexual orientation could fairly be compared with ’skateboarding or gardening.’” He also spoke out heavily against proponents of the measure infusing their religious beliefs into their arguments.
