Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. MSNBC's Chris Matthews: ‘Walrus Underwater’ Rush Limbaugh Is Just Bitter Obama Killed Bin Laden

(By Matt Schneider, Mediaite) - Chris Matthews was still upset Republicans were not giving President Obama proper credit for capturing Osama bin Laden, and particularly was disturbed by Rush Limbaugh’s “bitterness.” After playing some of Rush’s statements from [yesterday], Matthews wondered why the man who sounds like a “walrus underwater talking” could never find a moment to say anything nice about Obama.
