Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

UNC Athletic Director Dick Baddour to Step Down

School announced Wednesday head coach Butch Davis was asked to step down

CHAPEL HILL, NC (WGHP) —
UNC Athletic Director Dick Baddour will step down, the school announced on Thursday.

Baddour, who was set to retire at the end of the year, announced Thursday he will step away immediately.

UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp said Baddour will serve out the remainder of his contract, but will step aside when a new athletic director is hired.
