Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Nancy Pelosi Falsely Claims GOP Would’ve Filibustered Her Budget


(Breitbart.tv) - Appearing on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Nancy Pelosi defends her inability to pass a budget when she was Speaker of the House by claiming "Republicans would have filibustered it."

Of course, the House of Representatives have no filibuster rules so she could have easily passed a budget if she wanted to. Furthermore, it is our understanding of Senate Rules that budgets are not subject to the filibuster rule.
