The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Mitt Romney Uncomfortably Fidgets During John McCain’s Joke-laden Endorsement

(By James Crugnale, Mediaite) - An apparently hyper-caffeinated John McCain gave a lovably corny, joke-laden endorsement of Mitt Romney in New Hampshire, much to chagrin of the Republican hopeful. “We forgot to congratulate him on his landslide victory last night,” McCain snarked as Romney stood uncomfortably.
