Chad Williams sworn in as Walnut Cove police chief

(By Meghann Evans, The Stokes News) - In front of family, friends and colleagues, Chad Williams was sworn in as chief of police of Walnut Cove at a ceremony outside Town Hall.

Around 60 people gathered for the swearing in on Friday morning, which took place in the town hall parking lot to accommodate the crowd. Williams was sworn in by Mayor Lynn Lewis. Chad’s wife, Blaire, helped him pin his police chief badge.

“I was very excited,” said Chad Williams afterward. “It felt like I was a new officer.”

He continued, “I wasn’t really nervous. More or less excited. I hope to do a good job for the town.”
