Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Andy--
Isn't every year "the year of the woman"? It is true that the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. And women who take their role seriously have a civilizing effect on the men in their life. I think that a woman will be elected president when there's a woman who has the merit, experience and temperament to serve. That way, when she's elected, she'll be a president who just happens to be a woman. Rest assured, the American public [as opposed to a few agenda-driven individuals] will not vote for someone just because she's a woman. They'll elect her because she's the better candidate.
