Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Howard Dean's abortion myth

Howard Dean seems now to think that unabashed lying is a workable political strategy. Why not? It works for most other Democrats. And obviously the broadcast media isn't interested in calling him on it. The article asks about Dean's magic number, "So, where did Mr. Dean get that number?" No mystery there. Just ask Dean to turn around and bend over. The answer will be obvious.
