Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Is the Iraqi War causing more acts of terrorism???

Strother responds to Yours Truly:

True - Bush never said that "Saddam & Iraq were directly responsible for 9/11." He only craftily insinuated that it was so, and in essence, played upon the fears of the American public to support the war. For proof, simply ask a cross section of Americans if Saddam and Iraq were involved in 9/11, and wait for plenty of erroneous answers. Where did those ideas come from? Was it from the same administration citing Saddam's absolute possession of WMDs? I'm sorry, though; I digress... No need to go there.

In reference to the editorial and my point in posting it, the question is this: Is the war in Iraq - a pre-emptive strike that many Americans admittedly don't understand the point of anymore - unintentionally encouraging more acts of terrorism, more fear, and more hatred towards Americans and our closest allies? It's simply an issue to ponder.
