Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Last words...

First of all, I don't know anyone personally who is "pro-abortion". That's just an antagonistic term used, once again, to push someone's buttons. Let's have a mature discussion, here.

I began my post by saying that there is an inherent difference of opinion. There are many people who do not see the beginning of life as conception. Therefore, an abortion to them is not murder but a medical procedure to prevent birth. With that said, it is a horrible option. The whole conception process should be stopped WAY before an abortion is necessary. In this day and age with the advancements in birth control there is no excuse for unwanted pregnancy in most cases (rape, incest, etc. excluded). It comes down to being responsible for your body and your own actions and being made aware of the different options!! Parents must talk to their children and not be afraid to discuss sensitive issues. Schools must be allowed to teach sex ed with not interference. After all, it is biology!

I believe we actually agree more than we disagree, here. We both want to end "convenience" abortions and we both recognize that there are some circumstances where abortion is the only option. Both sides need to come together and stop arguing and calling each other names and get active! We're wasting valuable time that could be helping women and children.

I've said my last on this topic, too. Next....
