Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: High Property Taxes

Tucker Miller responds to yours truly:

By imposing strict guidelines on who is "qualified" to teach, "No Child Left Behind" has made a tough job even harder and it is increasingly more difficult to fill vacancies (or to even keep teachers) in the Stokes co. school system.
If the money is going to help pay for a much needed increase in Stokes co. schools' teaching supplement, then I hope my Stokes property taxes go up too!

(It's the federal income tax that milking me dry...how about we get rid of that one and replace it with a national consumption (sales) tax?)
