Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: RE: The Connection and the Media

"maybe Bush thinks that 'screaming to high heaven about this stuff' might also prompt us to ask about bin Laden's ties with countries he has no interest in invading, like Saudi Arabia."
Exactly. Dubya and the gang thought Iraq was an easy target. We'd attack, oust Saddam and be out in a couple of weeks. The American public would see progress that they would NEVER see in Afghanistan and think we were winning the War on Terror. Nevermind that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. They were a distraction.
