Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: RE: Re: And Now For Some Reality

Tucker Miller responds to Steve:

Just legalize it, tax the hell out of it, and only sell it only to adults over 21 at the ABCC (Alcoholic Beverage and cannabis Control) stores. It would still be illegal to grow, buy, or sell; except through the proper government controls. This would not only create revenue, but it could be priced low enough to essentially "low-ball" the black market right out of business.

On top of all that it would give small farmers a new cash crop (hemp for smoking and for making a higher quality material than cotton), and would save millions every year in the law enforcement, legal, and prison systems by not wasting time and money on busting, prosecuting, or jailing non-violent pot smokers. If it is driving around "high" that is the concern, make a zero tolerance policy for operating a motor vehicle on marijuana.

I don't understand why common sense can't ever trump rhetoric.
