Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

RE: Unocal backs sweetened $17 bln Chevron bid

This is good news. I'm not much for government interference in business, but allowing the government of the PRC to buy a major US oil producer is seriously problematic. I'm glad Chevron has stepped up to the plate. The worthless globalists in the Bush Administration would have simply stood by while this happened.
