Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

The Road to Hell...

Poor Behethland!

I'll bet you thought the Concert for Bangladesh actually resulted in money making its way to Asia Minor as well.

I think you missed the point of the article. What little good may have been done was more than canceled by the fact that these useful idiots aided and abetted totalitarian thugs in their brutal quest for power. Dying of starvation and dying in a ditch full of holes from a death squad's Kalishnikovs both have the same end result: you're just as dead, one way or the other.

Heaven save us all from well-meaning liberals!
