Bon Jovi plays non-partisan politics
From the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:
Bon Jovi fans will find some political — but non-partisan — commentary on the New Jersey group's new album, Have a Nice Day. It comes via the title track, which frontman Jon Bon Jovi says was inspired by the 2004 U.S. presidential election.
"'Have a Nice Day,' the song, was a response to the polarization of our country pre- and post- election," explains Bon Jovi, who campaigned for Democratic candidate Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., against incumbent George W. Bush.
"In light of the results and regardless of what side of the aisle you sat on prior that you may sit on now, it's simply to say 'Don't preach to me your way of thinking. Let us be neither sore winners or sore losers here. You live your life. I'll live my life. Have a nice day.'"
