Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

McCain and taxes

"I follow the course of a great Republican, Teddy Roosevelt, who talked about the malefactors of great wealth and gave us the estate tax. I oppose the rich passing on fortunes."

John McCain

Personally, I'm against the estate tax. I believe the estate tax is immoral. Why do I care if the rich want to pass on their fortunes... It's their money. I do believe McCain is quite a delusional man if he thinks he can win the GOP presidential nomination in '08.
