Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Re: 'Wake Up Stokes'

Wake up, Stokes County. It's our kids and grandkids that are going to be left with the debt, embarrassment and who knows what else if you continue to vote a straight ticket.

Not to mention the fact that voting a straight ticket often helps elect some really lame representatives.

Flood The Stokes News with the facts. Give them so much news that they don't have enough room to print all the free political propaganda being supplied weekly from Virginia Fox [sic] and Brian Holloway.

You mean those are different columns every week? I thought they were running the same ones over and over again.
