Bully Pulpit

The term "bully pulpit" stems from President Theodore Roosevelt's reference to the White House as a "bully pulpit," meaning a terrific platform from which to persuasively advocate an agenda. Roosevelt often used the word "bully" as an adjective meaning superb/wonderful. The Bully Pulpit features news, reasoned discourse, opinion and some humor.

Teaching

In American society, the question "What do you do?" translates to "How much money do you make." Strother make an excellent point regarding the capitalist view of art. Teaching, of course, is an art. What type of person do we expect to attract to the profession when the pay is so poor and there is such a lack of respect?
